When Scott Ramsey, AOSS Director, first approached me with the idea of creating a photo and video package for his new endeavor, I couldn't imagine a better set of 4 words that I resonated with more. Alaska. Outdoor. Science. School. After a quick run-through of what he sought to accomplish through his new business, I got right to work. The overall goal was to tell the story of Southeast Alaska and the wisdom of the outdoor classroom that it provides.

Alaska's wild spaces tell an inspiring story all on their own. However, using digital media to share it with audiences all over the world is the first step in ensuring that the story carries on well into the future. Sharing the experience of AOSS's students motivates those who have that same yearning to step foot into the outdoors and learn all about what makes the natural world so special and worth protecting.
